Scared of tense!!!!

He was scared.

He is scared.

Which one of these statements are correct?

Can we use both helping verb and verb in past tense??

Top answer

Both are fine, sekhar. 'Scared' is not a past tense here. 'Scared' can be considered either an adjective (in which case is/was is a linking verb) or a past participle (in which case is/was is the helping verb for the passive voice).
