Hi there,
I'm trying to make a list of 10 words to describe importance, in a scale from not important to critically important. I would appreciate your advice whether I have them in the right scale or not, from least important to most important. I'm especially interested in words that can be used in two ways - <word> importance, or <word variation> important.
For example, "No" would be: "No Importance" and "Not important"
The words I have so far, going from least importance to most:
no - not
marginal - marginally
minor - minorly?
small - smally?
moderate - moderately
significant - significantly
large - largely
great - greatly
dominant - dominantly
critical - critically
I'm fairly happy with this list, except "small" and "minor" don't work very well when you go to "important", and I'm not 100% sure each word is in the right place. What would be good replacements for those?
Here are some adjectives that work OK with "importance" no negligible / insignificant minimal / little marginal / minor modest some moderate considerable significant high great immense critical
