00Hi,02br

00The above is a poem by Shel Silverstein, and I've to teach it to my student. Nevertheless, I don't have the slightest idea of what it's about. Could some poetry guru shed some light? Thanks.0-

00The speaker is weighing herself. (I use the female pronoun only for convenience.) She is confident that she has lost weight-- in fact, a LOT of weight!-- but she cannot actually read the amount lost because she is so fat that she cannot see her weight measurement on the scale ( the scale is the type of scale that has the weight indicator at one's feet).02br
