Saying or proverb with this meaning, please?

Dear Everyone,

I’d like to find the most suitable saying or proverb of the English language culture whose meaning is, everyone judges others based on what they themselves are like (qualities, faults, what they think ethical, moral etc.); that the way you live determines the way you judge others, for example, what possible motives or explanation you come up with when interpreting someone else’s actions.

I haven’t found anything of the sort yet. Could you help me, please? Thank you very much. Emotion: rose
