Saying don't instead of doesn't

hey.. i'm sorry but i need some help!

i'm asked to analyze some errors of my students and i need to write a lot of details.

one of the most common errors is saying don't instead of doesn't.. for example: the waiter don't reply in a polite way!

why did the student say it? what's the definition of the problem? and what could be the best way to correct such errors? and i need to give an exercise for my student to help him with this problem...

i really appreciate your help

thanks in advance

Keep reminding the students that the third person in the present tense ALWAYS takes an "s": The waiter replieS; DoeS the waiter reply? The waiter doeS not (doesn't) reply. Write some exercises that mix the third person with the first and second persons.
