Say something or talk something?

Some peolpe say "say something" some say "talk something" others say " both is ok"

I can't think of any contexts where 'talk something' would be correct.

So, should I choose "Say something"?

Unless you're talking sense, talking nonsense, talking gibberish, talking garbage, or talking turkey.
Or if you're talking a language, talking English, talking Chinese, etc., although these are quite often 'speaking a language'.
I'm not sure if you classify these as "something"s.
