Saw him beaten

1) I saw him beaten.
2) I saw him beaten by his cousin.
.
Can one say if a) I saw him after he was beaten (in a beaten state)
or:
b) I saw him get beaten

I think '1' is ambiguous, but '2' corresponds to 'b', Not sure at all.
