RayHObviously there are no infants involved so Robin just means baptizing his men and possibly seeing to their other religious needs.
What about newborn/infant? Is this a joke of some kind he makes?

I'm not entirely sure what your confusion is. The definition of "christening" includes "naming an infant" which clearly doesn't apply to Robin's band of men, thus my comment that "obviously there are no infants involved."
