save or hold

What is the correct way to phrase:
I'll save the date for 2 days. If I haven't received the deposit by then, I'll unsave it.
I'll put a hold on the date for 2 days. If I haven't received the deposit by then, I'll unhold it.

Both are OK, except that I'd say 'I'll release it ' instead of 'unsave/unhold'. Clive
