satire example

Can anyone understand the satire of this image? In the book I am reading it is described as an example of satire and humour in art.

Perhaps someone more familiar with the genre can see more in it than me, but to me it just seems to be satirising film posters for low-budget or run-of-the-mill thrillers.

It's obviously not a real advertisement for a real movie. It's just spoofing the kind of thing that used to be done to advertise movies back in the 1940s. Names like Stella Stale are clues. Anyone with a name like that would have had to change it before she would have been hired by the Hollywood machine.
