SaraH, NoraH, CoraH, DeboraH

Hello!

Could you tell me, please, why the female names like "Sarah - Deborah" are written with "h" at the end? The letter "h" is not pronounced after all, is it?

Thank you!

The H is often omitted from these names. Parents in most western countries can choose more or less any name they like for their children and spell it in any way they wish. Rover

Sarah and Deborah are of Hebrew origin, so the English spelling may reflect Hebrew pronunciation or spelling. Cora is not usually spelled with an h. Nora/Norah can be spelled either way, although Nora is probably the original form, and Norah is probably prompted by the spelling of Sarah, etc.
Sara is also used sometimes.

My daughter's name is Corah, it just didn't look finished "Cora."
