I'd say they have the same type of car.

I would say, "Each of them has a blue car" or "They all have the same color car".

They don't have the same car, and they don't have the same cars, so I wouldn't say those things.

If they are the same model, I say both of the things you suggest.

But if they are the same colour but different models or makes, I'd say
