Salutation "To"

Hi. Please tell me how to punctuate after the salutatory phrase "To my mom" and the closing phrase "From, your son." Are they correctly punctuated below. Thank you in advance for your help.

To my mom:

I writing this let you know how much I love you. I love you, mom.

From your son,

Thank you. Can John Doe close what he wrote below by using the closing word "from," followed by a comma, and signing his name below the word? I put the word "to" before "this" to correct my mistake. Thank you again in advance for your help.

To my mom:

I writing this (to) let you know how much I love you. I love you, mom.
From,
John Doe

Yes, it's OK.
