Letter Writing

salutation in resignation letter

Hi everyone

When writing a resignation letter do you write in as formal and go Dear Mr/Ms Last name or can it be the first name. I know resignation letters are formal document but at work I don't call the boss' name formally, just by the first name. So how do I go about the salutation?

thanks

You can put your boss's full name and title in the address block, but then use "Dear Pat:" in the salutation.
