Salad person

Hello,

Some time ago I ran into words such as "salad person" or "breakfast person". I'm wondering whether there are other words/expressions (not necessarily with the word "person") which describe someone who likes certain foods. I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

Thank you

Hotmale I'm wondering whether there are other words/expressions (not necessarily with the word "person") which describe someone who likes certain foods. You can do that (with varying success) with most any foodstuff. Be aware that it is casual, however.

Yes, I thought so. What about expressions without "person"? Are there any?

'Guy' or 'gal' would work.

You can use it with animals.

'I'm not a cat person; I'm more of a dog person.'

Lots more things, too.

'He's not a cricket person; he's always been a rugby man.'

'As far as dancing goes, she's more of a disco girl than a Latin American person.'

Can I use this format freely?
I'm a reading/book person, he is a TV person, I'm not a dog person, but a fish person? (The last one sounds wierd

Not weird, but some will require context or explanation in conversation. E.g, a fish person could be either an aquarist or a gourmand.
