Said vs. spoke

Hi

Would you say that all of these work naturally? I used a period with spoke. Somehow the comma looked incorrect.

At last he said, "Are we in trouble?"

At last he asked, "Are we in trouble?"

At last he spoke. "Are we in trouble?"
