"said mentioned"
Several people at my work use "said mentioned" a lot. This irks me for some reason. I just wanted to know if this was incorrect. It sort of seems like using the same word twice, being that said, and mentioned really mean the same thing to me.

It doesn't sound right to me.
It sounds to me like they are trying to use what they think is a legal-sounding phrase.
There is this word (eg) ". . . the afore-mentioned agreement . . ''
Othor they could just say 'previously mentioned'.
