Said it will

Hello.....

I happened to come across the expression "said it will", pretty often.

ex: The company announced that it will increase ~.

Grammar books say that it has to be like "said it would", instead of "said it will".

How is it justified?
Or, it's just what is being used no matter what the grammarians say?

Back-shifting in reported speech is optional, not mandatory.

That is both grammatical and natural if the increase is still in the future at the time of reporting, 'Would' is also grammatical and natural.

So, it is not out of grammatical rules, I believe..
It is just another rule being applied.....
