Sahara: not as bad as they say (no spoilers)
Not sure why the critics savaged this movie, except for maybe the snob factor. So it's a Sunday afternoon popcorn flick, instead of "Citizen Kane." So what?
I thought it was better than last year's Nic Cage movie about that secret map hidden on the back of the Constitution.
Matthew McConaughey was engaging; Steve Zhan was minimally annoying as the obligatory wisecracking sidekick. The filmmakers get extra credit for starting off with making Penelope Cruz a strong, competent doctor. Then they get demerits for allowing her to devolve into a stereotypical damsel in distress. Too bad.
Anybody else admit to seeing this?

One impossible coincidence after another. (If Steve Zahn had been a better soccer player they would never have found the ship.)
