Safety circuit breaker

Hi!

Here is a sentence that sounds strange but it is original sentence quoted from an airplane PC-9 maintenance manual, from the chapter "Precautions against injury''. I don't understand the underlined part:

Open and safety circuit breakers in the flight control trim systems before commencing any work on the systems.

There is something missing in the sentence, perhaps another verb, I don't know. Any ideas?
Thanks

Hello Clive,
But then the sentence should continue with singular noun, shouldn't it?

Open any safety circuit breaker (singular)...

Hi,

Plural is fine if the writer thinks there may be more than one.

Remember that he is talking of more than one system.
