I've just made up this one: "Count how many i's are

The i's is a good example, and even if you do write "Is" it can still be a little confusing.

Although I would write "VIPs" and "CDs" you will see "VIP's" and "CD's" so very often that I think insisting on leaving them out makes me hopelessly old fashioned.
