S or without S

Hi ALL,

Someone asked me :

1. The absents are always wrong

2. The absent is always wrong

She asked me which is correct?

I told her both were correct. It depends on what she means...

What do you say?

TIA. Emotion: smile

Hi, what is an "absent"? I checked my dictionaries, but it seems "absents" don't exist!

Hi,

I'm sorry, my mistake.

The sentence is in French : Les absents sont tourjours torts. => The absent people are always wrong.

We used the online translation to do the job... and I got confused between French & English. Very sorry.

Thank you for your help.
