's or s's

Hi,

I am not so sure about the rule in using apostrophe for words with "s" as their last letter.

For example:
1. Despite his parents’ tacit approval, he is still not so sure with the decision he takes.
2. He surrenders to Thanatos's touch.

Am I using the apostrophe correctly in those two sentences?

Thanks, AL

So then I must use s's for names and s' for plural form?

It all depends on the name and whether the 's is pronounced as a new syllable.
