S + do/did + V

In a sentence which is in term of "S + do/did + V (infinitive)" If we add an adverb into it, where will adverb be?
S+ adv + do/did + V, or
S+ do/did + V

Do you have in mind sentences like:
The dog ate greedily.
She ran quickly.
Or do you specifically want to use the do/did + infinitive form, perhaps for emphasis.
The dog does eat greedily.
She did run quickly.
