Run a settlement cycle (portable payment terminal)

Hi,

“The payment terminal ran a settlement cycle even though I didn’t press any buttons.”

“I ran a settlement cycle through the payment terminal at the end of the day.”

Can ‘run a settlement cycle’ be used when talking about closing all the transactions that have been processed since a particular time?

I am aware of other ways of saying it, but I’m interested in the wording I mentioned above.

Thank you.
