Hello!


1.She wrapped a woollen shawl round the shoulder.

2.She wrapped a woollen shawl around the shoulder.

Which one is correct?


is "around" =round?

Can I use round in pleace of around? But when?

"She wrapped a woolen scarf around her neck."

According to my dictionary "around" suggests complete encirclement, whereas "round" indicates 'more or less' partial encirclement.

Personally, I don't ever use "round" as a preposition. I think it has pretty much fallen into disuse in the U.S.
