Roof and Fire Piece

Roof and Fire Piece was an artwork by Trisha Brown, that involved dancers, clothed in distinctive red garments and dotted around the rooftops of various skyscrapers in Manhattan, executing a sequence of movements. The effect was of a kind of ‘semaphore of the rooftops’: marooned figures seeking some form of human contact from within the anonymous, concrete jungle of the metropolis.
