The following is one interpretation of this.

Act I external conflicts:

Char. vs. char.: I.i.60 (act 1, scene 1, line 60 - the act, scene, and line numbers can differ in different editions of the play), Benvolio (a Montague, Romeo's cousin) and Tybalt (a Capulet, Juliet's cousin) fight with rapiers.

Char. vs. society: I.ii.70: "... my fair niece Rosaline [Juliet's father writes this in an invitation]...", I.ii.84: "...sups the fair Rosaline whom thou so loves." - Benvolio says this to Romeo. This is the second Capulet girl Romeo chases in the play (the other is Juliet). For Romeo to chase any Capulet girl, given the feud, is suicidal. Romeo is flying right in the face of society here. The reason he gets away with it is that everyone likes him apparently even Juliet's father (see I.v.66), or he covers his tracks very well (Juliet's and Romeo's parents never know they are lovers until they are dead).

Char. vs. nature: I.i.33: "locks fair daylight out." Romeo locks himself in his room with the curtains drawn trying to shut out the day.

Act I internal conflicts:

Char. vs. self: I.iv.104-108: "...my mind misgives...a despis'ed life closed in my breast." This is Romeo talking. He apparently regards himself as worthless.
