Romance the truth

Hi

Is the yellow phrase natural?

I think she's romancing the truth.

Thanks,

Tom

It makes sense to me, though I've never heard it. Perhaps "she's romanticizing the truth" is more natural.

Hi,

Are you possibly being influenced by the movie title, 'Romancing the Stone'?

That was a very uncommon use ot the verb.

In real life, I think the only time I've heard "romance" used as a verb is in the sense of "make romantic overtures towards". "romancing the truth" sounds odd to me.
