Roman numerals

Does anyone know how to express 100 million in Roman numerals?

I heard it should be CM with a line above the M, but I still can't imagine how to write it correctly.

Thanks in advance for any kind help.

Couldn't it be X with a double line over it? 000 (1,000,000), so it should be X (100) x 1,000,000

This is in French, but it says that the double line multiplicates by 1.000.

Hi, infoplease.com says M with a line over the top.

M with a line over the top is 1,000 x 1,000= one million (not 100 million).

I don't think there is a known Roman numeral rule for this kind of number. You might as well have asked about a Roman numeral for a googol.

Thank you all!

I found my knowledge so inadequate.

Hi Pieanne, in Roman numerals, X is 10, not 100

Hi davkett, you're correct. I mis-read the question.

Thanks. I feel better now, though. It was really stressful trying to get through life without making a mistake. Emotion: wink
