and does the word pitch mean anything when it comes to plains..like in 'the pitch and roll of the plains'??

Top answer

'Rolling plains' are not completely flat: there are slight rises and fall in the land form. 'Pitch and roll' is an action (like that of a ship in heavy seas) so would not apply to a land mass unless in a poem, perhaps.
