ROLLING AWAY and MARCHING BACK?

0 Hi, I would like to know if these two phrasal verbs have a same meaning:02br
00 'As I drove north through the little towns and the increasing forest ROLLING AWAY to the horizon, ...'02br
00 'The forests were MARCHING BACK, and where farm wagons once had been only the big logging trucks rumbled along.' 02br

00Thanks in advance, Jo. 0-

0 It's hard to say without context of the second one but 'rolling away' and 'marching back' don't have the same meaning here. Rolling away - continuing as far as the horizon. 'marching back' - withdrawing, reducing in area, (presumably because they are being cut down by the loggers).
