Role of 'many' and 'few'

Hello,

Is the following sentence gramatically correct? Please explain the roles of the word 'many' and the word 'few'. Thanks.

"Mourn the losses, because they're many; but celebrate the victories, because they're few."

Hi, Is the following sentence gramatically correct? What follows the semi-colon should be a sentence that is capanble of standing alone. As this one starts with the conjunction 'but', I'd replace the semi-colon with a comma.
