How much of Irish/Scottish movies can an average American understand?
I mean, quantified as an estimated percentage, can you as an American understand from films with a strong Bristish (Irish/Scottish) accent as heard in movies such as Billy Eliot set in N.Ireland? I myself as a non-native English speaker must admit I miss quite a lot (about 40%) of the dialog.
