road construction barricades?

Dear All,

If there's a road under construction or part of the road is being repaired or patched up, in order to provide safety and according to safety regulations a company responsible for the construction works is obliged to place some signs, lights and... and what? What do we call those wooden or steel barriers?

Can they be called:

a) fencing
b) barriers
c) barricades

I have found a picture of a barricade here: http://www.interwestsafety.com/Product/2-50/Type-III-Barricade/

Thanks for your insights.

Thanks Clive,

Would it be incorrect to say barricades? Is there any difference between a barrier and a barricade?

Hi,

barricade Sounds a bit more like something erected by eg the police, or soldiers, or fighters of some kind.
