Risky

Hi.
Is a risky activity also frightening?

There is a slight difference between may and may well. May does not imply that the thing is likely or unlikely, just that it could be so, although the context may suggest something about the likelihood of the matter. May well suggests that something is more likely to be the case than not.

Does 'risky' differ from 'unsasfe'?I can't find an exact translation for 'risky' in persian.

Risky implies that you are taking a chance, something could go wrong that would be bad for you. It often suggests that there is some reason why you want to do "X" and you are doing "X" while hoping that the problem will not happen at all. Risky doesn't necessarily mean that it will involve physical harm or damage. The possible harm could be financial, emotional etc.
