No, I'm sorry, it doesn't make sense. Do you think "rang the bell" is an idiom of some sort? (It almost is - when something "rings a bell" it means that something is famiar to you.)

But you have two object in a row - the bell his brother, and even if one could ring one's brother, that doesn't make sense.

Hmm. Well, there is another use, which is when you mean something is pleasing to you - but its use is not common and why I didn't think of it.

I would suggest you simply say "John's brother was really pleased with the video games he got him."
