Right use of the article "The" in this sentence ?

Friends, in the sentence given below I'm bit confuse regarding using the article: The.

Sentence: Joseph's case is not the first case where a member has quit the community on the disagreements with moderators. Or

Should be like this: Joseph's case is not the first case where a member has quit the community on disagreements with the moderators.

Pls tell me, where will be the correct usage of the article "The" will be ?
