Right usage for this idiom

Hi Friends,

Can I use "I'll keep you posted" in a sentence like this?

Landlord: Before I rent the house to you, I need to talk to one of your roommates

Tenant: Absolutely! He is busy with something now. I am going to call him and let him know that you would be calling him in 30 minutes.

Landlord: Thanks! Bye.

Tenant: Bye. I'll keep you posted.

Hi Again A small modification to the conversation I have posted above: Landlord: Before I rent the house to you, I need to talk to one of your roommates Tenant: Absolutely! He is busy with something now and might not answer your call. Before I give his number to you, I am going to call him and let him know that you would be calling him in 30 minutes.
