right up until/up until

1.He maintained his innocence right up until his execution.

2. He maintained his innocence up until his execution.

3. He maintained his innocence up to his execution.

4. He maintained his innocence right up to his execution.

Hi, Is #3 correct and what is the difference between #1 and 2 ?

And sorry for the uncongrous context of my question .

I would interpret these quite differently. 1 and 4 mean that he kept claiming he was innocent up to the moment he was killed. 2 and 3 (to me) suggest that as his execution was about to happen, he finally admitted his guilt.
