Right and wrong usage

What is wrong with the sentence "Order for food"? Should it be 'Please order for food' or 'Order food' -- Can we not use a preposition after 'Order' Pls reply.

You can use a preposition but it changes the meaning slightly. A food order - an order of food. Normally we don't use a preposition and just ask, "could we order (some food) please?" "I have ordered (my/our) food"
