Essay & Composition Writing

Rig site life.

I have joined to Geolog Libya branch on July 2010, I was so excited and bit scared in the same time, as I remember my first time in the Rig site was with Ricardo Tomaz (DE) and Elhadi Eshibany (ML), when I have just arrived in the rig site the Geolog crew‘s greeting was wonderful, and gave me good attitude about the crew. The trip was between watching, helping Mudlogger and reading manuals, I spent 28 days in the rig that I have learned a lot of new thing that you can’t find it in books or somewhere else, it was very useful because you are reading subject and observed it in the same time, then day after day I start to be familiar with the job and doing Mudlogger simple tasks by myself.

New Mudloggers should push themselves to learn as could as they can; because they are in the beginning of their career, in this time they can ask about everything they want to know, they should be active and deal with the information like sponge with water, throughout my little experience; it is a good opportunity to learn and ask because the next period will be very effective to build their career.

At Geolog I was constantly encouraged to learn more and more. I remember when I am coming back from the rig site that my boss once said to me, hey "Riyad, take these documents home and read them carefully. At first you might find them boring. But once you've read them you will realize how useful they are for your career. You will really enjoy the work when you understand the physical meaning or reality of it.

Unfortunately according with the situation in Libya, my career is stopped for a while, I hope to come back soon to the field, I want to keep going, because this is what I have learned for this job with Geolog.
