riding a horse

Can I say,

(a) The jockey is riding a horse around the horse field.

(b) The jockey is galloping the horse around the horse field. (is that correct to say "horse field"?)

Top answer

Riding and galloping are of course different. Horse field sounds very odd. Just field -- or paddock , if that's what it is rather than an open field.
