Riddle Help

The English select it, Hitchhikers read it, Bloggers don't like it, and the Greek and Portuguese share it.

The answer is a day of the week (Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Saturday or Sunday)...I am stumped...the closest I can figure is maybe Saturday as the words for Saturday are very similar in Greek and Portugese...

Nope...it's either a day of the week or conceivably a number...(18-24)...I can't figure out definitively what day the English select something...

Well part of the riddle suggests the answer is "guide"... Not sure about the rest
