Counts 44 heads. Walks to the back of bus.Counts 40 heads. What happened to the other 4 heads?

Top answer

I'm guessing here. Maybe from the front, the bus driver sees children who are short, so their heads aren't visible from behind. From the front, he/she sees 44 people: 40 adults and 4 small children.
