Riddle

You walk into a room with 11 statues in it. 10 statues stand in a circle around 1 in the middle. The one in the middle is of a woman with her palms up made out of silver. The ten other statues' order doesn’t matter. They're all male. One is made of iron holding a sword. One is made of iron holding a staff. One is made of marble holding a tome. One is made of marble holding a scepter. One is made of bronze holding a scepter. One is made of bronze holding an orb. One is made of bronze holding a sword. One is made of obsidian holding a child. One is made of obsidian holding a staff. One is made of obsidian holding an orb. As you approach the statue of the woman in the middle of the ring of statues, the woman comes to life and tells you. "A bard and a wizard once passed this way. I told the bard which the correct statue was made out of and I told the wizard what item the correct statue was holding." Their conversation is as follows: Bard: I do not know which statue is correct, but I know that the wizard does not know too.
Wizard: At first I did not know which statue was correct, but I know now.
Bard: Then I also know.
So which is the correct statue?

I think the statue is made of marble and is holding a scepter.

How do you get that from the clues?

Looking at it again, I realize I misread it.
It should be the iron statue holding the staff.
The bard says he knows the wizard does not know. That rules out any material associated with a unique object, which eliminates obsidian and marble. Now we are left with iron and bronze:

Iron holding a staff.
Iron holding a sword.

Bronze holding a scepter.

Yeah, I'm just lost. I'll admit I generally suck at riddles. When I catch onto them I'm good, but often I get mis-directed!

The only part that is confusing me, is the woman told the Wizard what the statue is holding - no mention of material... so I don't know how you got that you can rule out sword etc...based on material?

The wizard knows the item, but not the material. There are two statues with swords, so the wizard couldn't know which one is meant. Only if there is only one statue with the particular item could he be certain.
