Riddle!

I really need help answering this riddle I just cant get it! the question is as follows:

A glass jar holds a single germ. after one minute, the germ splits into two germs. one minute after that, the two germs each split again, forming a total of four germs. Continuing at this rate, a single germ can multiply to fill the whole jar in exactly one hour.

Knowing this, how long in minutes would it take to fill the jar if you started with two germs.

I had thought it was either 30 mins or 15 but neither of those are correct.

Help!!!

59 minutes? The jar with one germ had two germs after one minute, so the remaining time is how long it would take to fill the jar if you had two germs (an hour minus a minute)
