Rhotic or non-Rhotic ?

Hi, first time posting here. Thanks for keeping a very useful community up and running.

I'm confused with rhotic and non-rhotic pronunciations. There is a video of seemingly a British person here.

I think this is non-rhotic but around 1:19, I can hear an R in Card. Is he using non-rhotic or is this rhotic? And if possible, can you place where in Britain he's from?

Thanks in advance!

Hi taro, welcome to EnglishForward. His English is rhotic. He also uses /r/ in every other word, like "performance" around 0:15, "afterwords" around 0:18, etc...

  • although I think he pronounces "perform" around 0:20 without the second /r/ (in -form).
  • I have no idea where he might be from.

I have no idea where he might be from. If I had to guess, I'd say either somewhere in the north of England, or more probably in Scotlan
