Rewriting in the present tense
Hi there
Can you please help me to re-write the passage in the present tense: My response is below in bold font.
John told the following story a few days ago. Tell the story as Peter would tell it today:
Peter and I are going to xplore in the mountains tomorrow. I shall call for Peter at ten o' clock in the morning and we shall take the bus to Newcastle. I am taking the eatables and Peter will supplu fruit and something to drink. We hope the weather will be fine and that we shall have an enjoyable time. We expect to be home in time for supper.
My response:
John and I are going to explore in the mountains today. John will acll for me at ten o' clock this morning and we shall take the bus to Newcastle. I am taking the fruit and drink, and Peter will supply the eatables. We hope the weather will be fine and that we shall have an enjoyable time. We expect to be home in time for supper.

Your instructions were "John told the following story a few days ago. Tell the story as Peter would tell it today"
If "today" is Monday, then "a few days ago" was definitely not Sunday, but "a few days ago" could mean Friday or Saturday, for example. If John originally told the story on Friday, then what he was planning to do "tomorrow" is

Hi Anil17
Your instructions do not tell you to rewrite the story in the present tense! But your instructions also do not make it perfectly clear what you are supposed to do with the story.
When you talk about something today, it can be in any tense. Just because you are say something today, that does not automatically mean that you have to use the present te
