rewrite sentence

There's one question on my test yesterday. It's about rewriting sentence. (Only use from 2 to 5 words to rewrite)
It was:
-Don't tell him about our plan. (told)
-> Don't......................................our plan.

->Don't LET HIM BE TOLD ABOUT our plan.
Is it right?

Top answer

Don't tell him about our plan. This orders the listener not to tell. ->Don't LET HIM BE TOLD ABOUT our plan.

  • Don't tell him about our plan.
  • This orders the listener not to tell.
  • ->Don't LET HIM BE TOLD ABOUT our plan.
  • This sounds like it is ordering the listener to prevent someone else from telling.
  • It is not a natural thing to say.

Clive My guess is that this test question was not written by a native speaker.
More likely it was.
Actually, it was a question in my exam yesterday afternoon.
I couldn't do it. But most of my friends wrote like that. I only thought it must be "Don't let our plan be told to him" (I'm not sure whether it is right). But the sentence is ended with "our plan

And this is the second sentence
-I'd like to know the name of the hotel you stayed at, Tom (stay)
-> Tom,........................................at ?

My answer is "....what hotel did you stay..."
My friends say it must be "which hotel". But my teacher says both "which" and "what" are correct
So is my answer right?

This is the third one
-It is too dark in the room. (enough)
->There is...............................the room.
My answer is "....not enough light in..."
But there is another answer which is "....not bright enough in...."
My teacher says both are correct.
But I think there is/are + Noun
So the second answer is incorrect. (!!??)
Can you explain ?
